It’s a long weekend ahead of us to celebrate Civil Rights activist and hero Martin Luther King Jr.

There are other events planned throughout all of Southern Mississippi to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
Mississippi House Representative Jeramey Anderson will deliver the keynote address at a celebration banquet Saturday at the historic 100 Men Hall in Bay St. Louis.
On Monday, there will be a celebratory march beginning at 9:30 a.m. from MLK Park in Bay St. Louis to Powerhouse of Deliverance Church with a program and reception to follow at 11 a.m.
Also on Monday, Mississippi Power employees will be doing several volunteer projects across the Coast in honor of MLK Day of Service, working at Our Daily Bread in Pascagoula from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., serving food to the elderly and those in need.
Biloxi Upper Elementary School will work on a revitalization project.
History will come alive through art exhibits in Biloxi on the MLK holiday and you can check it all out for free.
The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art will hold a special opening of the galleries on Monday, January 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitors of all ages will be granted free admission to view the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum current exhibits.
