Just in time for the chilly weather, the City of Ocean Springs has finished three out of four of their new beach-side fire pits.
After Hurricane Nate, the original fire pits were destroyed. Now, over a year later, the fire pits are back up and able to be rented out to the public for $25.
The city made sure that the new fire pits would be more durable in extreme weather. Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson said, “Well, it is getting cooler and people are going to want to come out and have some bonfires. It’s just a fun time, coming out and having a fire on the beach, enjoying a cold beverage, enjoying the scenery and just having a good time in Ocean Springs. It’s what we are all about.”
If you would like to rent one of the fire pits all you have to do is go to city hall in Ocean Springs and tell them which pit you would like to rent and the date and time you need it.
