12/18 – Rob Knight’s “Changing Pattern” Tuesday Morning Forecast

Expect a quiet day across the forecast area which will continue into tonight. Areas of patchy fog will burn off by mid-morning but expect it again overnight as the moisture flow will continue to elevate across the region as the upper ridge that is covering the eastern US moves east. Expect low rain chances and relatively warm temps overnight. Things will change going into Wednesday as a trough of low-pressure move through the region. This will bring rain to the forecast area on Wednesday…late in the day.

There is a window for some thunderstorms but major organized strong to severe storms do not look like a major threat. I have increased the precip chances for the area Wednesday and will continue to mention a slight chance of thunderstorms. This disturbance will move through the region and a cut off upper low will develop and linger some over the area on Thursday.

This will continue to keep clouds and a chance of showers around. The system will move east later in the week and becomes a decent storm for the east coast. Cooler air moves in Friday and into the weekend. The weekend will be relatively quiet. There is a chance of a few showers as a weak boundary moves through on Monday. The next major organized chance of rain comes late next week.
