The $4.2 million renovation of Popps Ferry Causeway Park was completed in September, but now the city is facing a new challenge: graffiti.
Workers were on hand today at the park to install 11 new surveillance cameras. The city hopes this added 24 hour surveillance will help reduce the likelihood of more graffiti. Installation began today and is expected to be completed by next week.
The total cost of the cameras is $31,000, but came straight from leftover funds from the original renovation budget.
Another feature being installed: Wi-Fi boxes so parkgoers can connect while enjoying nature and the beautiful scenery.
