Phase one of the West Biloxi Boardwalk is open to the public and is a cause for celebration.
The boardwalk helps the public and tourists engage with the beach and waterfront at the same time. It also serves as an outdoor classroom with cool history facts on kiosks.
Locals have already taken advantage of the boardwalk by exercising and checking out a handwritten letter about the Coast from President Harry Truman.
Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich tells News 25 the beautiful view will attract more tourists to the Coast. “We are on our way to try to cover the whole thing with opportunities like this to be close to the waters, touch the beach, touch the water and just enjoy what our Coast has to offer. Again, bridge to bridge is what we are looking for.”
Phase two of the boardwalk is already underway. It will start at Veterans Avenue all the way to Camellia Street.
