Thanksgiving is two weeks away, but that didn’t stop the Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department from throwing their first ever Seniors Thanksgiving Breakfast and Fellowship.
Anyone over the age of 55 was invited to the Donal Snyder Community Center in Biloxi this morning to enjoy a yummy breakfast and spend some quality time together.
Special guests for the breakfast included Biloxi Police Chief John Miller, members of Biloxi City Council and fire department, Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich, and Ms. Senior Universe Sherry Strother. Biloxi Parks and Rec senior specialist Gwen Johnson said, “We are having a Thanksgiving fellowship and breakfast for the seniors. We felt it would be a good idea to get them out of the house. They get tired of the turkey and dressing so we thought we would do something different and invite all the city officials to come out and fellowship with them.”
Officials from the Biloxi Parks and Rec Department tell News 25 they hope to make this breakfast a tradition.
