Today, Harrison Central’s PJ Harrison put pen to paper with Mississippi Gulf Coast to continue his baseball career at the next level.
The rising senior can do it all for the Red Rebels, but says he’s signing to pitch and play center field with the Bulldogs.
Under the tutelage of Pat Olmi and now Neil Frederic, Harrison is turning into the total package at Harrison Central where he’s heading from one school of his dreams to another. “I always knew I would go up the road, right up the road from where I live to play up at Mississippi Gulf Coast. I always wanted to, there’s really no other college I was really interested in and putting it on paper was a big step for me, really. But I always knew I was going,” said Harrison.
Coach Frederic said, “He played a very, very big piece in our team last year. When you have six signees, he led off for our team, threw some very quality innings, he could play any position on the field. It’s just one of those guys that’s kind of a coach’s dream athletically. He has it licked athletically, and now we’re just trying to make him an even better person to prepare for the future.”
Last year, Harrison hit over .300 to go along with a 2.19 ERA.
