After being fired and then reinstated as the head football coach at Bay High in a period of less than two weeks back in March, Benji Foreman is stepping away from the program for good this time.
First reported by the Sun Herald and confirmed by News 25, Foreman resigned as head coach last week, but will continue to teach at Bay High for the remainder of the school year.
This season, the Tigers went just 1-9, but did manage to end a 20-game losing streak dating back to 2016.
Overall, Foreman was 3-27 during his three years at Bay High and tells News 25 there will be more coaching in his future.
The school district will reportedly leave the job open until December 5th in its search for the next head man.
Foreman also tells News 25, “It has been a blessing and honor to coach at Bay High. I’m so thankful for the opportunity that they gave me. I’m going to miss the players and I wish them nothing but success. They deserve success as hard as they work. Go Tigers.”
