Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College decided they wanted to spend the entire week leading up to Veterans Day honoring those who served our country.
This morning at the MGCCC campus in Jackson County, school officials held a complimentary breakfast for veterans including all MGCCC faculty, staff, and student veterans.
On Thursday, they will host the Veterans Day Program which will include a performance by the JC Voices and ROTC drill team, a military resource, and guest speakers.
Beth Lovorn, director of enrollment services at MGCCC, tells News 25 veterans make up a small population of their student body. “We have close to 200 at this Jackson County campus either they are veterans or they are dependents. So, we want to make sure that they know they are supported here with us through our military services. We just know that that’s a population of our students that we really want to engage and let them know of all the resources that they have here at campus.”
Tomorrow, they will host a 5K fun run and walk and Wednesday there will be a blood drive.
