Some 55 cars and floats paraded down the streets of Ocean Springs on Saturday to honor those that have served our country.
The Ocean Springs American Legion invited anyone who would be of interest to participate in the parade. They especially appreciate the local members of the JROTC who participated.
If parade-goers were lucky they may have gotten a chance to grab some candy or beads being thrown out.
Tom Adams, a member of the American Legion and a retired service member who spent 29 years in the Air Force, says this parade is such a special time for veterans in the community. “It’s a great opportunity to stand back and recognize and say thank you for your service. We get a lot of that as the parade progresses. We get a lot of salutes from the people watching, an obvious appreciation from a community that appreciates its veterans and the service they have provided.”
The members of the American Legion were grateful to all who came out to show appreciation to those who have done so much for our country.
