The 8th annual Bras across the River fun run is happening this Saturday in Moss Point.
Singing River Federal Credit Union puts on this event to support breast cancer research in hopes of one day finding a cure. Locals donate decorated bras so they can be strung across the Highway 613 Bridge.
Last year, the run raised $13,000 and they hope for that number to increase this year.
They have survivor sashes to drape across those that fought and won and those that are still fighting. SRFCU Marketing and Communication Vice President Jerica Hudson said, “It’s really neat in the sense that it is not a traditional run. So, we have people that will bring wagons and pull their children. We have survivors and people that are in the middle of treatment who we will even take up on the side by sides, the little gator type equipment and take them to the crest of the bridge where they sign the sign just like this one behind me.”
This fun run starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday. You can still register by going online to SRFCU.org or you can register the day of the event starting at 8 a.m. for $15 which comes with a free t-shirt.
