During the offseason, Long Beach High School decided to go in another direction with its boys basketball program, hiring St. Stanislaus alum Brandon Cobb to take over the reins.
Former head man Joel Boone is reportedly suing the school district over that change.
According to the Sun Herald, Boone is claiming former Athletic Director Forrest Williams told the more than 70-year-old coach that he was looking for someone ‘younger’ to build the program.
As a result, Boone has filed a federal age discrimination lawsuit, asking for reinstatement as well as pay back, damages, and attorney’s fees.
But per the article, Long Beach officials haven’t been served a copy of the lawsuit.
Cobb is 27-years-old and played under Jay Ladner during his time with the Rock-A-Chaws.
