One of the Gulf Coast’s most popular fast food restaurants will be closing, but only for a little while.
Chick-Fil-A is closing its Gulfport doors for a six week renovation beginning Friday. A larger kitchen will be installed as well as a remodeled dining room and a double drive-thru.
Store Manager Nicholas Lizana tells News 25 major renovations occur every 15 years or so and this particular store opened 15 years ago in May.
Lizana says customers won’t be disappointed when the restaurant reopens its doors. “We’re actually closing to become bigger and better so to say hopefully its gonna make it, you know its gonna hype everybody up, but hopefully this time we’ll be able to get that hot fresh food to everybody that much quicker, we’ve got a couple tricks up our sleeves we may do some fun things at the beginning.”
Lizana also says employees will have several options to compensate their time during the renovations from training to relocating and even taking extra vacation.
