TD Gordon continues to move slowly north across Arkansas today as weak high-pressure builds over the central Gulf coast region. Deeper moisture will remain in place today, however some drier air to the east will start to work into eastern portions of the forecast area today and much of the area on Saturday.
While heavy rain and a few stronger thunderstorms cannot be ruled out today, the threat today is much lower.
A cold front will sag southeast through the mid-Mississippi valley and southern plains into the lower Mississippi valley Sunday through much of next week. This will bring numerous showers and thunderstorms into the northern and western portion of the region Sunday afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible, with a Marginal Risk of Excessive Rainfall on Sunday/ night. This scenario will continue through much of next week.
