It takes a village is the motto for the second annual Black Entrepreneur Expo in Gulfport.
At the Paralyzed Veterans of America Building tomorrow, a pop up shop will serve as a platform for black owned businesses to promote their products. The Melanin Village Expo wasn’t started to exclude any other races, however it was started to increase awareness of the businesses owned by African Americans.
Over 30 vendors will sell their products and services. Local boutiques and authors will also be at the expo promoting their salons and books. Melanin Village Co-founder Alexis Williams said, “This is very important for us to put on an event in Gulfport so others know ‘hey, we are here and you can shop with us.’”
The Melanin Village wants to continue to host a variety of activities to promote networking and minority businesses.
