The November 6th midterm election is now less than three months away, and Senator Roger Wicker has been on the coast campaigning for re-election.
The Republican Senator has spent the past couple of days travelling around the coast visiting with local residents and businesses.
This afternoon in Gulfport he spoke to the Harrison County Republican Club about the future of the coast.
He told the crowd a few areas of focus will include utilizing Ingalls, along with helping rural Mississippi grow by bringing broadband to those in less populated areas.
Senator Wicker says, “Between Ingalls here in Pascagoula, and Austal over there in Mobile we do the vast majority of surface combatant ships in the United States Navy. Clearly Broadband has go to be apart of a new economy here in Mississippi.”
In the November election Senator Wicker will take on current State Representative David Baria of Bay St. Louis.
