The National Transportation Safety Board reviewed their official findings, focusing on what caused the accident and what can be done to prevent another. The crash killed four Texas tourists and injured over 40 people.
Reports show local officials and the railroad knew the crossing was a trouble spot. Back in September, Harrison County supervisors formally notified CSX that deficiencies exist at 29 different railroad crossings within the city.
