This morning, employees from the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino’s table games department took time out of their day to volunteer at Loaves and Fishes in Biloxi.
A crew from the housekeeping department was also on hand to assist with ‘to go’ meals for shut-ins, as well as prepping, cooking, and serving lunch at the soup kitchen. Both departments presented a check for $3,000 to Loaves and Fishes.
This $3,000 is helping fight hunger in South Mississippi, providing enough funding for Loaves and Fishes to serve meals to its clients for two weeks. Volunteer Ruth Lynch said, “It just shows our support for the community. It shows us we are all one step away from being here and just to be able to support people and everyone come together and show that we can be a community and help each other in need.”
Crews from the Beau Rivage Casino volunteer at the soup kitchen at least once a week.
