After two days of nonstop action, crowds of 85,000 Saturday and 65,000 Sunday and no major issues, Blues over Biloxi has been deemed an absolute success.
The event was centered in the skies above Deer Island, but hotels were full across the entire Coast.
The U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds are already set to follow up on an incredible performance by the Blue Angels. That airshow, set for next April, lands on the same weekend as Black Spring Break.
Mayor Gilich tells News 25 that the city will be taking a closer look at the scheduling of both events to find a solution, but for now Blues over Biloxi shows that these large scale events can run smoothly and bring big crowds to the Coast. “Getting there was easy, getting out after a tremendous show, both Saturday and Sunday wasn’t too bad. I was there both days. It was a tremendous success. I’m so proud of our folks. We just talked a little bit about after action, but hopefully more to come in the future.”
According to the Thunderbirds website, their tentative show dates are April 13th and 14th of 2019 for a ‘Salute to the Military’ air show.
