This weekend, tens of thousands of spectators are expected to head to Biloxi as the Blue Angels fly over the beach.
Biloxi police are already gearing up for the added traffic that will no doubt come along with the popular event. Major Christopher De Back with the Biloxi Police Department tells News 25 they plan to have officers all up and down Highway 90, but especially around Harrah’s Great Lawn which is acting as the hub of the event.
Police also want to make sure spectators follow some rules so everyone stays safe. “Try and get off around the Bayview exit. You also have the east, you know, coming through Ocean Springs. The lighted intersections and a few others like Pine Street and Cedar and so forth will be a place where pedestrians can cross,” said Major De Back.
There will be limited parking around town, but police are asking people to make sure they park in a legal spot.
