Freedom Ball

Veterans are held close by many people on the Gulf Coast and this shows especially well within the Crusaders for Veterans.

On Saturday, they held their third annual Freedom Ball, a black tie event that honors those who have fallen, those active, and veterans. The proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the Crusaders who help veterans who cannot help themselves.

Men and women from each branch of the military were represented and News 25’s very own Chief Meteorologist Rob Knight was the emcee for the event. Major General retired Jeff Hammond said, “There’s no greater, I think, act of love than service. Service to the American service member, now a veteran, is something that is long overdue. It is our duty as American citizens to support those who serve.”
