Hot and humid, and we could see a few showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, but activity will be more isolated than yesterday. The strongest storms will dump very heavy rain, have a lot of lightning, and could produce gusty winds. Rain chances remain fairly isolated into Saturday, but there will still be a few afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Rain chances start to increase as we head into the beginning of next week. Southeasterly flow will take over, and we will start to see scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening hours. Temperatures will continue to remain hot in the lower 90s, but heat index values will be in the lower 100s.
TROPICS: Post-Tropical Storm Chris continues to weaken as it moves toward Canada. Rough seas still exist off the East Coast though. The remnants of Beryl continue to move north of the Bahamas. There is still a medium chance that this wave redevelops into a tropical system as it moves toward the north. It looks like if it does redevelop it will remain over open waters, taking a similar path as Chris.
