There are big changes in the works for Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi.
News 25’s Caroline Eaker was on hand as casino officials laid out the plans for the casino’s future.
Treasure Bay Casino has not changed much since 2007, but now casino officials feel it is time for bigger and better things which is why they have announced their plans to move forward with an expansion project. Treasure Bay Vice President of Gaming Operation Jeff Prusinowski said, “We have been pretty self-sufficient that we felt it was necessary to grow a little.”
Wednesday morning, Biloxi’s Development Review Committee got a first look at the construction project. The plan will take place in three phases with the first two phases starting on the outside of the facility. “First a flat level parking lot with 391 spaces that will allows us to move on to phase two which is in a current parking lot, covered parking which is very necessary here.”
Once the new parking is complete and the final phase can begin, Treasure Bay will add 10,000 square feet in gaming space. “The casino expansion is going to add onto our current second floor, a grab and go restaurant and a third floor restaurant on top of the parking garage.”
Construction on the new parking lot will begin this fall with the casino expansion and garage taking shape in 2019.
