Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith visited the Gulf Coast Saturday and enjoyed some of the festivities in our area that she says she is truly fond of.
She was appointed by the governor to replace Senator Thad Cochran and now she is running for the permanent seat. She wasn’t just campaigning during her visit to the Gulf Coast. She came out and took a look at all of the fresh catches at the Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo.
She also stopped by the Crab Festival in Bay St. Louis. “Everybody on the Coast has been so warm and you know they just come up and say ‘Senator thank you for coming to the Gulf Coast,’ but I know how important this Gulf Coast is. It’s just a different area of Mississippi, but vital to our economy, vital to this state and my heart is certainly here on the Gulf Coast.”
The senator will be on the ballot for a permanent seat running against Chris McDaniel and Mike Espy on November 6th.
