The limit does not exist for former Southern Miss pitcher Nick Sandlin regarding the size of his trophy case.
Today, the second-round pick of the Cleveland Indians was tabbed as the male selection for Conference USA Michael L. Slive Athlete of the Year, an honor he shares with Western Kentucky volleyball standout Alyssa Cavanaugh.
In 2018, Sandlin led the entire nation in ERA and WHIP, going a spotless 10-0 in the process. For that, he’s previously been named National Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game as well as a consensus All-American.
This week, he was already promoted to the Lake County Captains, Cleveland’s class-A affiliate where he joins fellow Golden Eagle alum Kirk McCarty.
