In the minor league sector, the Biloxi Shuckers are home to a pair of award winners in the form of right-hand pitcher Zack Brown and second baseman Keston Hiura.
Today, the Double A duo swept the Milwaukee Brewers organizational honors for the month of May and for good reason. Brown, the 23rd ranked prospect of the Crew, went 3-0 with a 1.62 ERA in six starts.
Meanwhile, Hiura is proving his worth as Milwaukee’s top ranked prospect, hitting at a clip of .377 to go along with six home runs, 17 RBIs, and 29 runs scored in 29 games.
He was just promoted to Biloxi on June 1st, but wasn’t in the starting line-up for tonight’s game.
Shuckers took on the Pensacola Blue Wahoos tonight. Blue Wahoos win 5-1.
