Hundreds of jeeps will be cruising the Coast starting tomorrow as the first annual four day Jeepin’ the Coast kicks off.
The event started as a one-day parade coinciding with Cruisin’ the Coast. It’s now bigger than ever with over ten different events placed around the Mississippi Coast throughout the four day celebration.
On Saturday, the slow roll Jeep parade will be taking place in Long Beach featuring local vendors, entertainment, a 5K run, and more. T-shirts will also be sold and all proceeds will be donated to ‘Costumes for a Cause’ a local charity helping families battling any form of cancer.
News 25 spoke to Jennifer Moran, the founder of Jeepin’ the Coast, who tells us the event has seen significant growth over the past seven years. “Long term we saw that, but we didn’t realize it would grow that fast that quick. I mean, we went from 29 Jeeps in 2012 to this year 500 and I think 70 preregistered jeeps as of May 18th. It’s just blown up into a four day event.”
