Tonight, the Mississippi State University Road Dawgs Tour made its way to the City of Biloxi for the ninth year in a row.
Mississippi State University Athletic Department officials have been touring the state since last Thursday to visit alumni and fans throughout the region. Today, they made their seventh tour stop at the Golden Nugget.
The event featured MSU’s new head football coach Joe Moorhead, women’s basketball National Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer, and Athletic Director John Cohen.
This annual fan-friendly event is a collaboration by the MSU Bulldog Club, MSU Alumni Association, and the local MSU alumni chapter. Road Dawgs Tour Coordinator Jeff Ellis said, “It’s really a way for people to start getting a little excitement built around football season which is coming this fall and a way for the fans to really interact with the coach. This year, it’s really special because we are welcoming a new head football coach and they’ll have the opportunity to interact with him and get signatures and ask questions about spring football and who is going to be the starting quarterback, etc.”
Ellis says that besides the tour being a fun event, it also raises scholarship funds for students from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to attend Mississippi State University.
