The sport of bed racing entertained locals at the third annual Chandy Fest by the Chandeleur Brewing Company in Gulfport Sunday.
There was live music, crawfish, beer, and the amazing bed race at this event. The bed race is a fundraiser that benefits the winner’s nonprofit of choice. Teams of local organizations from the City of Gulfport, including the Chandeleur Brewing Company, entered the race.
The Port City Rollers had an intelligent yet simple game plan going into the race. Chris Vignes with the City of Gulfport Public Affairs said, “We are going to run as fast as we can. It’s all in fun for charity. We got eight teams out here today and a lot of different groups like the fire department, a lot of community organizations, so it’s going to be a good time.”
Although the Port City Rollers had a good game plan, they came up short in the heat races.
