Elks Mardi Gras Parade

It is Carnival season on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and many parades are scheduled to roll through the streets this weekend.
Thousands of people will take to the streets in Ocean Springs for the 43rd annual Elks Mardi Gras Parade tomorrow. The parade will roll at 1 p.m. through downtown Ocean Springs, rain or shine. It will follow its traditional route which starts on Front Beach Drive and heads east on Porter Avenue.
Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson tells News 25 what he wants parade goers to be aware of while catching beads along the route. “The construction will still be on the route, but we have been working with the contractors to make sure that everything is ready to go. It is going to be safe. I wanted to make sure that we are working with everybody to make sure everyone is safe and ready to go for Mardi Gras.”
Also rolling this weekend is the ninth annual Krewe of Legacy Parade in Pass Christian at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
