11/14 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

This morning it was cool and clear, but mild temperatures are the rule across the area this afternoon. Winds continue to be a bit brisk near the tidal lakes and along the immediate beach so fog has not been an issue…but could become problematic Thursday/Friday as much warmer temps will be in the area to close out the workweek. Temperatures today will again be generally in the lower 70s with nothing in the way of precipitation to speak of. This will be the case throughout much of the work week with temperature creeping up slightly each day.

The main story later in the week and into the weekend will be the approach of another cold front. There is still a good amount of model spread with the timing and strength of the system for our area but will continue with the increase in rain chances…albeit not very high chances…for Saturday evening and into early Sunday morning. Temperatures will drop behind the front and a few temperatures in the 30s cannot be ruled out for early next week.

Payton Malone grew up in the small town of Archer City, Texas before moving to Norman, Oklahoma where he attended the University of Oklahoma. During his time at OU he interned as a meteorologist at KOCO in Oklahoma City where he experienced all types of weather ranging from tornadoes, flooding and winter storms. Payton received his Bachelor of Science in Geography and a Minor in Meteorology. Payton's interest in weather began at the very young age of six after a local broadcast meteorologist talked to his class about preparing for severe weather. That along with growing up in the middle of Tornado Alley, Payton has been hooked to the weather ever since. He is excited to move to the Gulf Coast and start a new adventure away from the plains. He loves venturing around the area finding new coffee shops, local places to eat, and he looks forward to being involved in the communities on the Mississippi coast.
