Swearing in Pascagoula Mayor Dane Maxwell

The Flagship City officially welcomed its new leader Dane Maxwell.
Maxwell took the oath of office this evening at the Pascagoula Senior Center, marking the start of his term as mayor of Pascagoula. He tells News 25 it’s been a smooth transition thus far and he’s prepared to hit the ground running on July 5th.
Maxwell says there are several projects already in the works that aim to bring in new businesses and beautify the city. “We also had communication with the White House on big ticket items. They’ve come to bat. The governor, we’ve met with him. He’s committed some money for Market Street. The lieutenant governor has committed to help us with some money, too. So, hopefully we can get that funding soon so we can get started on these projects.”
Six council members also took the oath of office during tonight’s ceremony.
