Shuckers Kids Clinic set for Thursday

The Biloxi Shuckers postponed the first Shuckers Kids Clinic at MGM Park due to the possibility of rain.
The clinic scheduled for this morning has been postponed until tomorrow. If you have a conflict with Thursday’s date, those registered can also attend clinics on June 12 or 13.
The kids clinic aims to help youth baseball players along the Mississippi Gulf Coast improve their baseball skills while receiving hands on instruction from Shuckers players and former Mets catcher and Shuckers team ambassador Barry Lyons.
Lyons tells News 25 this is not a rainout, just a rain delay. “Nonetheless, we’re going to go forward with the clinic tomorrow. We have a great pre-registration number in advance and these guys, we’re thankful that they’re willing to give their time and come out and share with the kids, but that’s part of the community development that you want in Minor League Baseball and the Biloxi Shuckers and Chuck and the whole team here and the whole staff has been outstanding about giving back to the community.”
Eight players from the Shuckers roster have volunteered to come out and share some of the tricks of their trade with the kids.
