After decades of service, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is saying goodbye to three law enforcement officials.
Friends, family and the sheriff’s department gathered for cake and good memories in Jackson County today. The ceremony was celebrating the retirement of Captain David Chamberlain, Lieutenant Randy Neal and Captain Mick Sears. Each of the new retirees was given a plaque in their honor.
Lt. Neal tells News 25 out of more than 30 years with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, the seven years he served on the narcotics task force were his favorite. “That was probably some of the funnest and most enjoyable time, buckling down on the dope in the streets and all the other crimes that come along with it. Been very enjoyable serving the people. I’ve done it now for 37 years and it’s been fun, but it’s time to move on and see what God has in store for the rest of my life.”
Lt. Neal and the two retiring captains have all served over 20 years with the sheriff’s department.
