Tableau and Ball

There was a packed house at the coliseum this evening for this year’s Gulf Coast Carnival Association coronation ball.
The ball marks the culmination of the 2017 carnival season. The colors, costumes, and theme for the ball vary from year to year. This year was all about the luck and lore of superstitions.
Performances and decorations focused on witchcraft, magic and more. GCCA Chairman Alwyn Luckey said, “I think we have about 1,000 people in attendance watching the tableau and then after the tableau the royal ball will begin with a wonderful band and dancing for everybody.”
If you missed out on the fun tonight, don’t worry you can still celebrate the end of Mardi Gras season during the GCCA Fat Tuesday parade. The parade starts rolling through downtown Biloxi at 1 p.m.
