02/16 Ryan’s “Chilly & Clear” Thursday Night Forecast

0

We’ve seen clear skies throughout the day and the calm winds are really helping things cool down tonight. Expect another chilly low near 40 degrees tonight, but we’ll begin a warming trend as we head into tomorrow that will bring mid 70 and higher temperatures to the Gulf Coast. The first half of tomorrow will be pleasant and cool, with clear skies and plenty of sunshine, but after noon we’ll begin seeing clouds thicken ahead of a surface low developing due to upper level features. This “wave” will pass through quickly, and is not expected to bring any severe weather though a few t-storms aren’t ruled out. After this frontal system dies out, high pressure moves in quickly and skies will begin clearing as soon as Saturday afternoon. This new airmass is Pacific in nature and will be warmer than average, so expect temps to linger in the mid 70s for a few days. We’ll cool gradually once the week begins as cloud cover and rain chances increase due to another slow moving system, but the weekend is looking clearer.
