Remembering the 2017 National Championship Game

Monday night’s national championship game evoked a lot of different reactions out of a lot of different people from those rooting for Alabama or Clemson and everything in between.
For an Alabama fan it might be hard to appreciate one of the greatest national championship games ever played. USC and Texas, this game, and that’s it.
Undefeated Bama, the cream of the Crimson Tide crop, hadn’t lost a game in 478 days and hadn’t trailed in the fourth quarter the entire season.
So with yet another controversial pick play, the Tigers painted the college football word orange for the first time in 35 years. The Clemson faithful rejoiced, have exacted their long-awaited revenge from last year’s 45-40 loss.
Others rejoiced for other reasons, former Southern Miss running back Jalen Richard made some quick coins off former Alabama wide receiver, now Oakland Raiders teammate, Amari Cooper.
USM’s all-time leading passer even gave some to Deshaun Watson, “real recognize real for the man that probably should’ve won the Heisman trophy.”
Even Isaiah Buggs, the Alabama signee from Gulf Coast, might have to turn his phone on airplane mode.
There’s no way the sequel can top the original they said, but when a former walk-on catches the game-winning touchdown there’s always a way.
