Swimmers visiting the Biloxi Natatorium may feel that the water is a bit cooler these days after the heater burns out. The twelve year old gas heater is expected to be replaced within the next several weeks. The new heater will cost around 35-thousand dollars and once approved by the city council will take six to eight weeks to install. The council is expected to vote on the heater replacement at the next council meeting on Tuesday January 3. In the meantime, the aquatics staff at the natatorium wants patrons to know if the cooler water temperature affects them, they may either wear a wet-suit or instead use the swimming pool at the Donald Snyder Community Center.
