Biloxi Design Studio Receives Grant

A local design studio is getting an extra helping for their Friday Morning Serial program, thanks to a grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation with funds given by the Knight Foundation.
Each week, the program has special guest speakers from various Coast organizations to talk about how they can work together to better our community, all over a bowl of cereal.
It’s put on by the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio in downtown Biloxi and now the studio has more than $49,000 to help expand this program. Elizabeth Englebretzen with the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio said, “We’re going to do some sub-granting, some mini-granting. A lot of partnerships have been formed through Serial from people just sitting in the crowd. If we can help seed their projects even just a little bit, that’s what we’re looking to do.”
Leaders with the design studio tell News 25 they plan to expand the serial series in the next few months.
