Former Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewer top prospect Orlando Arcia got the anticipated call up to the big leagues. Tonight, he made his debut.
The shortstop was called from Triple A Colorado Springs last night and is starting at shortstop in San Diego tonight.
The 21-year-old Arcia was batting .267 with eight homers and 53 RBIs in 404 at-bats at Colorado Springs this season. He also had 15 stolen bases in 23 tries.
Arcia was ranked as the 14th best prospect in the minor leagues by “Baseball America” earlier this month.
He was named the Brewers’ Minor League Player of the Year while playing with the Shuckers in 2015.
