Shuckers Extend Partnership with Brewers

The Biloxi Shuckers announced a two year extension of the club’s player development contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
The contract extension keeps the Shuckers as the Brewers Double-A affiliate through the 2020 season.
Biloxi has already seen many of the Brewers’ top prospects in the last two seasons, including Orlando Arcia and Brett Phillips.
A total of seven Shuckers players have gone on to make their Major League debut with the Brewers. Shuckers Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting Chris Harris said, “For the Brewers to want to extend this for an additional two years, from 18 to 2020, lets us know we’re doing some things the right way. There’s a lot of teams in this league that their contract’s up at the end of the year and they have not renewed it yet. This puts Biloxi and the Gulf Coast in a great spot knowing we’re going to have a great team on the field.”
Shuckers accomplishments include a Southern League best 117 wins, a South Division Championship in 2015 and a berth in the Southern League Championship Series.
The contract extension ensures the Brewers will have had a Southern League affiliation for 21 seasons.
