SeaOne to Bring Major Tax Revenue to Gulfport

The Port of Gulfport’s newest potential tenant will be the first in the nation to export compressed gas liquids to Central American and Caribbean countries in need.
Countries in that region rely on high cost liquid which limits economic growth and negatively impacts the socio-economic fabric of the region. SeaOne will provide those markets with the opportunity to obtain a much lower-cost cleaner energy source while bringing major tax revenue to our area.
The Port of Gulfport and SeaOne are hoping to sign the lease within the next month. President and COO of SeaOne Maritime Gas Solutions Bruce Hall said, “Our service, plus the commodity, we are able to provide the lowest cost fuel to areas in the Caribbean and Central America that currently suffer from the highest electricity rates in the region. For a socio-economic basis that is not a good combination. Our hope is that we’ll be able to make a difference and Gulfport we see as being a big part and very central part of the development of this project.”
Construction is expected to start later this year with commercial production set to begin in 2019.
