VA2K Collection for Homeless Veterans

This morning, Biloxi VA employees laced up their sneakers for their personal health and the well-being of those they serve.
The health system held its annual VA2K this morning. Employees walked six laps around the main entrance water fountain, the equivalent to 1.2 miles.
In addition to encouraging a healthy lifestyle, the walk also served as a collection for donations to help local homeless veterans who are seeking help at the VA. Director of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System Anthony Dawson said, “We do this every year to make sure we recognize the efforts toward the homeless veterans and also to make sure that we promote health. We’re a healthcare organization so we should be promoting health as well.”
Organizers tell News 25 they were impressed with this year’s turnout.
