Biloxi Shuckers VS Milwaukee Brewers

MGM Park in Biloxi is getting everything ready for the big exhibition game Saturday. The Biloxi Shuckers will take on the Milwaukee Brewers. News 25’s Gina Tomlinson gives you the highlights of what you can expect about the game.
It will be the first time a Major League Baseball team visits Biloxi since 1938 when the Philadelphia Phillies held spring training in Biloxi. Biloxi Shuckers Director of Media and Broadcasting Chris Harris said, “We’re just in the process of having to roll out the red carpet for Milwaukee.”
This is the first time since September that the Biloxi Shuckers are back and will play a game on their home field. The first pitch for this much anticipated game is set for 1:10. “It’s exciting. When you have a Major League Baseball team coming to an AA ball park, to an entire community, it could be a once in a lifetime deal,” said Harris.
The gates open at 11 a.m. Fans will have the chance to meet the Milwaukee Brewers who will sign autographs from 11:05 to 11:30. The Brewers will have batting practice until 12:10. Shuckers General Manager Chuck Arnold said, “It’s an opportunity for fans to come out and see Major League players, the ones they’re watching on TV throughout the season.”
The Biloxi Shuckers are expecting a big turnout Saturday. The goal is to fill as many stadium seats as possible. “Ticket sales are going well. With the weather forecast for Saturday looks like a great day, so we’re expecting to have a sell-out,” said Arnold.
Harris tells News 25 this game isn’t just about their team. This game is a big hit for Biloxi and a home run for anyone who lives on the Coast. “This is an opportunity to showcase the community, to showcase everything that we have to offer here. It’s not only great for our team but for the entire community as well.”
Select tickets are still available. You can purchase them online or at the MGM Park box office.
