Parent Involvement and Accountability ACT Passes the Mississippi House

In a bill passed by the Mississippi House of Representatives, students won’t be the only ones receiving grades from teachers.
Under the Parent Involvement and Accountability Act, teachers would be required to grade parents on their involvement with their child’s education. A section would be added to each student’s report card on which the parents are graded on the responsiveness to communication with teachers, the student’s completion of homework and readiness for tests and the frequency of absences and tardiness.
The parent grading bill will now move on to the state Senate for consideration.
