Some Ocean Springs students got up close and personal here at WXXV News 25’s studio.
Sixth graders from St. Alphonsus Catholic School got a firsthand look at what goes into putting on a daily news broadcast this morning and sat in to watch our new noon show. They toured the newsroom, stood in front of the weather Chroma key and sat at our anchor desk to get a feel for what it’s like to do the news. Teachers decided to go beyond the textbook to help the students learn about broadcasting. Student Alexa Mohler said, “I saw the set and I saw the whole thing that they did and all the places that they do and how they make it, it’s really cool.”
A few of the students expressed an interest in making a career out of broadcasting down the road.
