There will soon be new life breathed into the Harrison County Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds are known for hosting the Winter Classic Horse Show but plans are already developing for this year’s Harrison County Fair. Carnival rides, petting zoos, pony rides, the rodeo and concerts will take place September 7th through the 11th.
Organizers believe there’s no reason the county with two of Mississippi’s biggest cities shouldn’t have the best fair in the state. Organizers say the Coast hasn’t seen a fair of this kind since the 30’s. Justin Skinner with Harrison County Fair Association said, “The last thing we see in 1937. So, we’re pretty excited as far as a county to get this thing rolling and bring it to all of our community members. We’re looking to incorporate all families across the community. We want to give a little bit of something to everyone from toddlers all the way up to our oldest seniors.”
Other than reserved seating for one of the premiere concerts and the rodeo, the activities for the fair will be free.
