Rosa Parks’ legacy was honored with an exhibit at Troy University in Montgomery. The museum offered free tours and special performances.
Parks’ historic act of civil disobedience when she refused to give up her seat on a city bus set off the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It was one of the many Civil Rights actions spearheaded by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that showed how much local economies depended on African-Americans.
