Local Leaders React to Death of Supervisor William Martin

A sad day for William Martin’s friends and family as many learned the shocking news of his indictment and death Thursday afternoon.

News 25 reached out to city and county leaders who had mixed reactions about Martin’s death. Several Harrison County Supervisors say they send their condolences to the Martin family, but many county and city leaders tell News 25 they just don’t know what to say.

Felix Gines, Acting Mayor of Biloxi, says, “Just always been a kind person, first of all. Our hearts go out to the Martin family, especially his daughter. He’s always been a kind guy.”

Kenny Glavan, President of the Biloxi City Council, says, “You know, it’s very sad news that we’ve heard today regarding Mr. Martin. I remember we went through Leadership Gulf Coast together and he has many years that he’s contributed to the Coast in a lot of ways, so our heartfelt condolences to his family.”

It has been a very sad day for the Gulf Coast and all who knew Martin.
