With less than two weeks until the November elections, the Jackson County Sheriff’s race is heating up. Wednesday night, the remaining candidates came together for a final forum at the Latimer Community Center to try to convince voters why they are the best candidate.

The race is now down to Jeff Barnes, Bob Cochran, Mike Ezell, Bruce Lynd, Scott McIlrath, and Shelia Smallman. Interim Sheriff Charles Britt pulled out of the race a few weeks ago amid a controversial firing of Deputy Louie Miller.
